Description: <p>This course discusses what independent authors need to know about the elements of book design. Whether you plan to hire a cover designer, work with a hybrid press, or publish through a small press—where you will have input on the cover, authors need to have a least a basic foundation of book design theory and best practices, or else risk having poor book design that damages the story you’ve worked so hard to publish. This class with Tony Bonds will cover practical elements of covers, cover design theory, ways to create the cover, interiors, and ways to go about requesting changes. Whether you have a small press or a book of your own, this session is for you. Tony is also offering a class on Building a Creative Lifestyle on Saturday, May 30. Students have the option of purchasing these classes together.</p>
