Description:
Learn how to protect your local watershed and produce a fantastic soil amendment from manure. This webinar will demonstrate managing manure from a small amount of livestock. Improper disposal of manure is unsightly, breeds flies, and can create health issues for your livestock. It also can contaminate local water sources. Using composted manure on your garden and landscaping conserves water, mitigates erosion, sequesters carbon, and can help your plants thrive. Virtually visit Ramona’s International Equestrian Center to watch a compost pile build in process and visit with site manager, Nancy Zadrozny. This webinar will address manure composting for a large amount of livestock, for instance, 30+ horses. Nancy Zadrozny is a 33-year resident of San Diego Country Estates (the Estates) and the manager of the Estates’ Equestrian Centers and Landscape Department. She has applied her background in horticulture and ecology, along with 15 years experience as vice president of an engineering construction firm, to build a vibrant and successful composting program in her community. Register online to hold your seat. You will receive an email with the link and password to join on the day before the webinar occurs. Please note that you will need to have the Zoom application installed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) to attend and participate.
