Description:
The Elizabeth Hospice, a nonprofit healthcare leader in San Diego County and Southwest Riverside County, is seeking volunteers to help facilitate support groups for parents and guardians of grieving children and teens. These groups, which are offered free-of-charge, provide a safe environment where adults can share their grief story, gain valuable information about how to support their grieving children and connect with other parents and guardians who are experiencing similar circumstances. As a provider of free grief support services for children and teens, The Elizabeth Hospice offers support groups throughout the school year for youth, ages 3 to 17, at their Children’s Bereavement Centers in Escondido and Mission Valley. Parents and guardians meet concurrently in their own support groups. Volunteers are required to make a six-hour, bimonthly commitment from October 2019 through May 2020. Volunteers have the option to work in either the Escondido or Mission Valley location. For more information or to RSVP for the training sessions, contact Jessica Porte at Jessica.Porte@ehospice.org or 760-505-2303.
