Description: <p>Paul Winter’s 41st Annual Winter Solstice Celebration will be a retrospective tapestry highlighting iconic performances from the first four decades of the event. This video, featuring many pieces that have never before been seen outside the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. In addition to the Paul Winter Consort, with Paul Winter’s soprano sax, cellist Eugene Friesen, double-reed master Paul McCandless, and gospel singer Theresa Thomason, the video will feature the Consort’s "sister ensembles" – Abdel Salaam’s Forces of Nature Dance Theatre with their 25 dancers and drummers, and Russia’s 10-member Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble – along with an international array of special guest singers, including Procol Harum’s Gary Brooker; singer/songwriter and activist Noel Paul Stookey, best-known as a member of the famed folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary; Latin Grammy-winning Brazilian musician Ivan Lins; leading interpreter of Afro-Brazilian music Fabiana Cozza, and more.</p>
