Description: <p><em>Arrival </em>(2016. 115 minutes): Why are they here? Denis Villeneuve directed this hypnotic, visionary and mysterious tale of humanity&rsquo;s first contact with alien culture. When an extraterrestrial monolith lands in the wilds of Montana, a linguist (Amy Adams), an Army Colonel (Forest Whitaker) and a military physicist (Jeremy Renner) are enlisted to decode their language and communicate to determine their intentions. This film screening acknowledges Coronado Public Library&rsquo;s 2023 Coronado Community READ: &ldquo;Project Hail Mary&rdquo; by Andy Weir. Held in the Winn Room at the Coronado Public Library, on the first and third Wednesdays, with a brief introduction before the film and a discussion afterward, led by Ralph DeLauro. This program is presented by Coronado Public Library and Coronado Island Film Festival.</p>
